Betapa tidak, berkat sinergitas yang baik tersebut kebakaran dengan TKP di samping dan belakang Gereja Elsaday Jl. 30 Kota Waisai, Sabtu, (11/11/2023) pada pukul 16.00 WIT berhasil dikendalikan dengan aman.
Humas Polres Raja Ampat melaporkan kejadian terjadi terjadi dimulai pukul 15.20 WIT. Mendengar kejadian tersebut puluhan personil Polres Raja Ampat, petugas pemadam BPBD, anggoa Dalmas Polsek Waigeo Selatan dan Bhabinsa dan Anggota turun ke lokasi untuk memadamkan api. Dan selesai dipadamkan pada sekitar pukul 18 00 WIT.
Ikut dalam aksi pemadaman api tersebut Kasat Sabhara, Iptu. Saleh Dukomalamo, Kapolsek Waigeo selatan, Iptu. Ramlan serta segenap anggota polres dan Kodim serta dari BPBD Raja Ampat.
Kebakaran itu sementara dugaan akibat api dari punting rokok yang masih menyala dan dibuang orang tak dikenal sehingga mengakibatkan kebakaran disaat cuaca yang lagi kekeringan
Kapolres Raja Ampat, AKBP Edwin Parsaoran, S.I.K,.M.I.K melalaui Kasie Humas, IPDA. Maryadi,SH menghimbau kepada seluruh warga masyarakat yang ada di Kota Waisai agar berhati hati dalam bermain api. Baik dalam merokok agar jangan sembarangan membuang puntung rokok apalagi di saat-saat musim cuaca panas seperti saat ini sehingga mudah mengakibatkan kebakaran terhadap hutan maupun lahan yang ada.
