Dibalik kemasyuran nama Raja Ampat, ada seseorang yang bekerja keras dalam senyap selama 20 tahun, mensukseskan Bupati Raja Ampat, Marcus Wanma – Inda Arfan (Marinda) dan Abdul Faris Umlati (AFU) membangun Raja Ampat sejak tahun 2003 – 2023.
Sejak kembali dari Jogjakarta tahun 2001, Orideko bergabung bersama forum komunikasi generasi muda Raja Ampat ( FK-GEMURA ), sebuah organisasi yang dibentuk oleh pemuda -pemudi dan sesepuh Raja Ampat, untuk mempercepat “ Pemekaran Kabupaten Raja Ampat “. Ketika itu, Orideko menjabat sebagai Ketua III.
Bersama FK-GEMURA, Orideko dan kawan-kawan berkomunikasi dengan Bupati Sorong, John Piet Wanane S.H, M.Si, untuk mempersiapkan Drs.Marcus Wanma sebagai Carataker Bupati Raja Ampat 2003.
Mereka juga menopang Ikatan Keluarga Raja Ampat ( IKRA ) Sorong, untuk mempersiapkan pelantikan czretaker di Jayapura, hingga penjemputan dan pembukaan selubung papan nama mulai beroperasinya kantor bupati kabupaten Raja Ampat, di Waisai, 9 Mei 2023.
Seiring berjalannya waktu, Orideko Burdam dipercayakan pemuda dan pelajar Ayau menjadi ketua terpilih. Memiliki komunikasi baik dengan Drs. Marcus Wanma M.Si, Orideko Burdam dan teman-temannya menjadi organisasi pemuda pelajar pertama yang dilantik oleh pemerintah kabupaten Raja Ampat.
Bermula dari sini, Orideko mulai mengawal Drs. Marcus Wanma M.Si menjadi bupati definitif bersama Wakil Bupati Raja Ampat Drs.Inda Arfan ( Marinda ), dan setia bekerja keras melakukan melakukan pengawalan program-program pembangunan hingga berakhirnya masa jabatan ( 2005 – 2015 ).
Sejak bertugas di keuangan Setda, Orideko memberikan konstribusi besar dalam mendukung kepemimpinan Marinda, karena dedikasi dan kesetiannya, dia dipercaya menjabat Kepala Badan Keuangan dan Aset Daerah Kabupaten Raja Ampat tahun 2012.
Menjadi tenaga keuangan dan kepala badan keuangan, Orideko pandai mengatur keuangan daerah, hal ini berdampak terhadap promosi pariwisata Raja Ampat, dan membuat nama negeri para raja ini semakin tersohor ke seluruh dunia, tak luput, kesejahteraan pegawai pun terpenuhi, beberapa jenis penerimaan intensif daerah lahir dari ide dan tekadnya.
Dalam bidang pariwisata, lahirlah beberapa kegiatan pariwisata, baik Festival, promosi luar negeri, hingga Sail Raja Ampat 2014 yang menjadi puncak pengakuan dunia dan terbukanya akses pariwisata dunia, semua terjadi karena peran Orideko dibalik layar.
Di bidang social kepemudaan, kala itu Waisai masih sepi dan belum ada media masa, laki-laki Ayau ini enghidupkan Farek, organisasi pemuda yang mendukung pemerintah dalam menginisiasi berbagai tournament olah raga, menjaga kebersihan pantai WTC hingga menerbitkan sebuah tabloid bernama Farek News.
Dibidang pendidikan, Orideko menginisiasi lahirnya beberapa program bea siswa, namun secara umum, dia menata keuangan untuk mendukung program bea siswa S1, S2, S3 dan sekolah kejuruan untuk mengisi kebutuhan SDM Raja Ampat.
Salah satu peristiwa besar bersejarah yakni Sidang Sinode GKI Di Tanah Papua 12 Maret 2017 di Waisai, pun, tak luput dari peran Orideko dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dana panitia penyelenggara, berbagai inisiatif dilakukannya agar even bergengsi ini dapat terlaksana dengan sukses.
Memasuki masa transisi pergantian kepemimpinan daerah tahun 2015, dari Marinda ke Faris Manu 2015-2020, Orideko Burdam, tetap dipercayakan menjabat Kepala Keuangan dan Aset Daerah.
Karena pembawaannya yang kalem, ulet dan pekerja keras, didukung prestasinya, Orideko Burdam didapuk oleh kalangan ASN Raja Ampat, untuk menjadi Wakil Bupati Raja Ampat 2021-2024, mendampingi Abdul Faris Umlati S.E, M.Pd. ( AFU ).
Menjadi calon Wakil Bupati Raja Ampat 2020-2025, alumni S2 UGM ini meletakkan jabatan kepala keuangan dan berhenti sebagai Aparat Sipil Negara.
Tak hanya sampai disitu, majelis jemaat Alfa Omega Waisai ini harus selalu menjaga keseimbangan pemerintahan selama menjabat Wakil Bupati Raja Ampat dari 2021 – 2024, dia berjiwa besar menerima segala keputusan dan konsekuensi dalam ruang lingkup kerja pemda kabupaten Raja Ampat.
Orideko berasumsi jika pemimpin harmonis, roda pemerintahan akan berjalan lancar maka masyarakat dapat terlayani dengan baik, perekonomian menjadi stabil, sehingga terwujud Raja Ampat yang Damai.
Apalagi Raja Ampat sebagai destinasi wisata internasional, Raja Ampat Damai memberikan rasa nyaman kepada wisatawan selama berlibur di surga terakhir di bumi ini, sehingga mereka mau kembali terus ke Raja Ampat, dan memberikan devisa negara meningkatkan pendapatan asli daerah ( PAD ) Raja Ampat.
Dia memang pemimpin yang teguh memegang kata-katanya, dia konsisten melaksanakan komitmennya, walaupun penuh resiko dan membutuhkan pengorbanan besar.
Dia tidak haus pujian, tidak suka menjadi pusat perhatian, tidak suka menonjolkan diri, dan tidak ingin mengumbar kehebatan, predikat yang pantas disandang Orideko adalah dia adalah salah satu sosok yang bekerja dalam diam dibalik layar kesuksesan Marinda dan AFU, Membangun masyarakat Raja Ampat.
Tujuh bulan lagi akan terjadi pergantian Bupati dan Wakil Bupati pada Pilkada Raja Ampat, Orideko Burdam S.I.P, M.M, M.Ec.Dev telah mengakhiri masa tugasnya, masyarakat Raja Ampat akan memilih Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Raja Ampat baru pada 27 November 2024.
Syamas Orideko Burdam telah memberikan teladan yang baik sebagai pemimpin yang ulet, bekerja dengan setia, pekerja keras, dan memiliki sikap rela berkorban untuk memajukan Raja Ampat.
Sebuah contoh kepemimpinan yang dapat ditiru oleh ASN dan calon-calon pemimpin Raja Ampat masa depan yang akan dipilih dan dipercayakan oleh Rakyat nanti.
“Saya bahagia ketika melihat masyarakat Raja Ampat tersenyum,” katanya.
